war timeline
War Timeline: WWI to Present, In Historical Order A curated marathon of war films arranged by the era each movie depicts — not by release date. Starting in the trenches of World War I and ending in the streets of modern Iraq, this list traces the history of combat on film chronologically, the same way you'd walk through a museum timeline rather than a director's filmography. Spans WWI, WWII (major theaters: Battle of Britain, Pearl Harbor, Midway, Eastern Front, D-Day, Iwo Jima, the fall of Berlin), Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf/post-9/11 era through 2025. Prioritizes real combat and historically-grounded events over films merely set during wartime. Watch it start to finish for a chronological tour of 20th- and 21st-century warfare on screen, or jump to whichever conflict interests you.
