Artificial Ruins

Ruinas Artificiales

“The end of the human and the end of the real are the same end.”

Synopsis

A group of amateur filmmakers begins an experimental project that gradually destroys their lives. As they shoot a fiction about a writer who, trapped with a monolith, tries to create real beings through her writing, the characters begin to contaminate the shoot, until no one can tell what is being filmed from what happens behind the camera. Made in Barcelona with the latest AI models applied to VFX, Ruinas Artificiales could be considered part of a Nouvelle Vague, but of the 21st century, that is, with agile methodologies, precarity, quantum physics and tarot. At once satire and dark comedy, it asks what remains of the human when the machine writes and generates images faster than we can think them and feel them.
